# Integrating with AI assistants (MCP) (/integrating-with-ai-assistants)

You can connect SavvyCal to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once you're connected, you can ask your assistant to check your calendar, find open times, book and cancel meetings, block off time, and manage your scheduling links, right from the chat. Learn more on our [AI assistants page](https://savvycal.com/ai).

<Callout type="success">
  Connecting an AI assistant is included free on every SavvyCal plan. 🤖

## Server address [#Server-address-z3nS1]

Every assistant connects to SavvyCal with the same address:

```text
https://savvycal.com/mcp
```

The first time your assistant connects, you'll sign in to SavvyCal and approve access. There's no API key to copy.

## Connecting Claude [#Connecting-Claude-DL6oX]

1. In Claude, open **Customize → Connectors**.
2. Click **+** and choose **Add custom connector**.
3. Name it **SavvyCal** and paste in the server address.
4. Sign in to SavvyCal when prompted and approve access.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner needs to add the connector for your organization first. After that, each member connects their own SavvyCal account.

## Connecting ChatGPT [#Connecting-ChatGPT-KVYyO]

1. Open **Settings → Security and login** and turn on **Developer mode**.
2. Go to **Plugins**, click **+**, name it **SavvyCal**, and paste in the server address. If it asks how to sign in, choose **OAuth**.
3. Sign in to SavvyCal when prompted and approve access.
4. In a new chat, turn on SavvyCal from the **Developer mode** menu.

## Connecting Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code [#Connecting-Claude-Code-Cursor-or-VS-Code-OMRcT]

**Claude Code:** run this command in your terminal:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http savvycal https://savvycal.com/mcp
```

Then run `/mcp` in Claude Code, choose **savvycal**, and sign in.

**Cursor:** add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` :

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "savvycal": { "url": "https://savvycal.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

**VS Code:** add this to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your project:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "savvycal": { "type": "http", "url": "https://savvycal.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

Cursor and VS Code will ask you to sign in to SavvyCal the first time they connect.

## Connecting other assistants [#Connecting-other-assistants-y6V8D]

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in should work. Add a remote (HTTP) server named **SavvyCal** with the server address above, then sign in when prompted. SavvyCal supports dynamic client registration, so you won't need a client ID or secret.

## Approving access [#Approving-access-XO3H1]

When your assistant connects, SavvyCal asks you to approve it. The approval page shows the assistant's name and what it will be able to do once connected, such as viewing your scheduling data and booking meetings on your behalf. Click **Approve** to connect. You can revoke access at any time from your Integrations page (see **Disconnecting** below).

Your assistant connects to the SavvyCal account you're signed in to in your browser. To connect a different account, sign out of SavvyCal first, then connect again.

## What your assistant can do [#What-your-assistant-can-do-su74M]

Your assistant acts as you. It can see and change only what you can see and change in SavvyCal, and it works with the same scheduling links you see on your Links page.

* **Events:** see upcoming and past meetings, including who's attending and where they're happening.
* **Booking:** find open times on any of your scheduling links and book a meeting on your behalf. The person you book with is added to your contacts.
* **Rescheduling:** move a meeting to a new time, with an optional reason. Attendees are notified.
* **Canceling:** cancel a meeting, with an optional reason. Attendees are notified.
* **Approvals:** approve or decline a meeting booked on a link that requires approval, with an optional message. Attendees are notified.
* **Scheduling links:** create, edit, duplicate, disable, re-enable, archive, or delete links. New links are created in your personal account.
* **People on links:** add, edit, or remove the people on a link, and change who organizes it.
* **Availability:** create, rename, or delete your schedules and change their weekly hours. Block off time or open up extra time on any of your schedules, or on a single scheduling link. Organization owners and admins can also see, create, edit, and block off time on their members' schedules. Schedule a time zone change for a trip, so your hours follow you. You can also ask why a link isn't showing any openings.
* **Contacts:** look up, add, edit, and remove contacts.
* **Workflows:** create, edit, turn on, pause, or delete workflows, including their reminder emails and the scheduling links they run on. New workflows are created in your personal account.
* **Meeting polls:** create, edit, publish, or delete polls, see who has responded and which times work for them, and book the meeting at the time you pick. New polls are created in your personal account.
* **Teams:** see your teams and their members, see pending invitations, create or rename a team, invite people to join, and remove members.
* **Branding:** see and change the colors and theme of your booking pages, for you or a team, and hide the SavvyCal branding on the Premium plan.

If your assistant can browse the web, it can also read this help center to answer your questions about how SavvyCal works.

Here are a few things to try:

* "What's on my calendar tomorrow?"
* "Find 30 minutes with Priya next week and book it."
* "Block off Friday afternoon for deep work."
* "I'm in London from June 3 to June 10. Update my availability."
* "Make a 15-minute version of my intro call link."
* "Why can't anyone book my consulting link on Thursdays?"
* "Send a reminder email a day before every intro call."
* "Make a poll with a few afternoon times next week for the board meeting."

For actions that are hard to undo, like canceling a meeting or deleting a link, your assistant shows you what will happen and asks you to confirm first.

## What your assistant can't do yet [#What-your-assistant-cant-do-yet-Hom8a]

* Manage integrations or billing, or change team roles
* Upload an avatar or banner image, or change the banner's background color

## Disconnecting [#Disconnecting-8_pXe]

Head to your [Integrations](https://savvycal.com/integrations#connected-apps) page and scroll to **Connected Apps**. You'll see every assistant you've approved, what it can do, and when it last connected.

To disconnect an assistant, click the menu next to it, choose **Revoke access**, and confirm. It loses access to your account right away. You can approve it again later if you change your mind.

Meetings your assistant booked and changes it made stay in place. You can also remove the SavvyCal connector (or MCP server) from your assistant's settings so it stops trying to connect.

## Troubleshooting [#Troubleshooting-ip7XK]

**My assistant connected the wrong SavvyCal account.** Remove the SavvyCal connector from your assistant, sign out of SavvyCal in your browser, then sign in with the right account and connect again.

**SavvyCal doesn't show up in ChatGPT.** Turn on SavvyCal from the **Developer mode** menu in each new chat.

**I can't add a custom connector in Claude.** On a Team or Enterprise plan, ask an owner of your Claude organization to add the SavvyCal connector first.

**Times are showing in the wrong time zone.** Tell your assistant which time zone you're in, and it will use that for the rest of the conversation.
