Integrating with AI assistants (MCP)

You can connect SavvyCal to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once you're connected, you can ask your assistant to check your calendar, find open times, book and cancel meetings, block off time, and manage your scheduling links, right from the chat. Learn more on our AI assistants page.

Connecting an AI assistant is included free on every SavvyCal plan. 🤖

Server address

Every assistant connects to SavvyCal with the same address:

https://savvycal.com/mcp

The first time your assistant connects, you'll sign in to SavvyCal and approve access. There's no API key to copy.

Connecting Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click + and choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it SavvyCal and paste in the server address.
  4. Sign in to SavvyCal when prompted and approve access.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner needs to add the connector for your organization first. After that, each member connects their own SavvyCal account.

Connecting ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to Plugins, click +, name it SavvyCal, and paste in the server address. If it asks how to sign in, choose OAuth.
  3. Sign in to SavvyCal when prompted and approve access.
  4. In a new chat, turn on SavvyCal from the Developer mode menu.

Connecting Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code

Claude Code: run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http savvycal https://savvycal.com/mcp

Then run /mcp  in Claude Code, choose savvycal, and sign in.

Cursor: add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json :

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "savvycal": { "url": "https://savvycal.com/mcp" }
  }
}

VS Code: add this to .vscode/mcp.json  in your project:

{
  "servers": {
    "savvycal": { "type": "http", "url": "https://savvycal.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Cursor and VS Code will ask you to sign in to SavvyCal the first time they connect.

Connecting other assistants

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in should work. Add a remote (HTTP) server named SavvyCal with the server address above, then sign in when prompted. SavvyCal supports dynamic client registration, so you won't need a client ID or secret.

Approving access

When your assistant connects, SavvyCal asks you to approve it. The approval page shows the assistant's name and what it will be able to do once connected, such as viewing your scheduling data and booking meetings on your behalf. Click Approve to connect. You can revoke access at any time from your Integrations page (see Disconnecting below).

Your assistant connects to the SavvyCal account you're signed in to in your browser. To connect a different account, sign out of SavvyCal first, then connect again.

What your assistant can do

Your assistant acts as you. It can see and change only what you can see and change in SavvyCal, and it works with the same scheduling links you see on your Links page.

  • Events: see upcoming and past meetings, including who's attending and where they're happening.
  • Booking: find open times on any of your scheduling links and book a meeting on your behalf. The person you book with is added to your contacts.
  • Canceling: cancel a meeting, with an optional reason. Attendees are notified.
  • Scheduling links: create, edit, duplicate, disable, re-enable, archive, or delete links. New links are created in your personal account.
  • People on links: add, edit, or remove the people on a link, and change who organizes it.
  • Availability: block off time or open up extra time on any of your schedules, or on a single scheduling link. You can also ask why a link isn't showing any openings.
  • Contacts: look up, add, edit, and remove contacts.

Here are a few things to try:

  • "What's on my calendar tomorrow?"
  • "Find 30 minutes with Priya next week and book it."
  • "Block off Friday afternoon for deep work."
  • "Make a 15-minute version of my intro call link."
  • "Why can't anyone book my consulting link on Thursdays?"

For actions that are hard to undo, like canceling a meeting or deleting a link, your assistant shows you what will happen and asks you to confirm first.

What your assistant can't do yet

  • Reschedule meetings
  • Change your recurring weekly hours (it can block off or open up specific times instead)
  • Create or manage meeting polls
  • Manage workflows, integrations, or team and billing settings

Disconnecting

Head to your Integrations page and scroll to Connected Apps. You'll see every assistant you've approved, what it can do, and when it last connected.

To disconnect an assistant, click the menu next to it, choose Revoke access, and confirm. It loses access to your account right away. You can approve it again later if you change your mind.

Meetings your assistant booked and changes it made stay in place. You can also remove the SavvyCal connector (or MCP server) from your assistant's settings so it stops trying to connect.

Troubleshooting

My assistant connected the wrong SavvyCal account. Remove the SavvyCal connector from your assistant, sign out of SavvyCal in your browser, then sign in with the right account and connect again.

SavvyCal doesn't show up in ChatGPT. Turn on SavvyCal from the Developer mode menu in each new chat.

I can't add a custom connector in Claude. On a Team or Enterprise plan, ask an owner of your Claude organization to add the SavvyCal connector first.

Times are showing in the wrong time zone. Tell your assistant which time zone you're in, and it will use that for the rest of the conversation.
