Require payment before someone books

Connect Stripe, then open a link's Payments settings, turn on Collect payments for this scheduling link, and choose a product. People pay in Stripe Checkout before the meeting is confirmed, and no invite goes out until they've paid. Payments are on the Premium plan, and SavvyCal adds no fee on top of Stripe's.

How do I turn it on?

Go to Settings > Integrations, click the + button next to Stripe, and connect your Stripe account. See How do I connect Stripe?
Open the link, and under Booking Page Options, click Payments.
Turn on Collect payments for this scheduling link, choose a Product, and click Enable payments. See How do I charge for a scheduling link?

The booking page then shows the price, and the button says Proceed to checkout instead of Schedule.

Is the time held while they pay?

Yes, for up to two hours. Nobody else can book it while the scheduler is in Stripe Checkout. If they leave Checkout with its back link, SavvyCal releases the time right away. See How long is the time held while they pay? and What happens if they don't finish checking out?

Can I offer a free call and paid sessions?

Yes, with two links. Payments are set per link, so keep one link free for intro calls and turn on payments for your sessions link. Each paid link has one price, so two prices need two links. See How do I set the price?

Can I approve bookings too?

Yes. The scheduler pays first, then the booking waits for your approval. Declining a paid request doesn't refund it. See Can I collect payment and require approval?

What about refunds?

SavvyCal never refunds a payment automatically, even when you cancel or decline the meeting. To refund someone, find the payment in your Stripe dashboard and refund it there. See Does canceling an event refund the payment?

What doesn't it do?

SavvyCal takes payments through Stripe only. There's no PayPal or Square.
People can't buy a package of sessions or credits to book later.
Every payment is one-time. There are no subscriptions or payment plans.
Group links, where several people book the same time, can't take payment.
Each link has one price, whatever duration the scheduler picks.
