Link analytics
To see how your scheduling links are doing, click Analytics in the sidebar. The page has two tabs:
- Traffic shows how many people visited your booking pages, how many of them booked, and where they came from.
- Event Activity shows bookings, reschedulings, and cancellations over time, and who organized and booked them.
To jump straight to one link's numbers, go to Scheduling Links, open the menu next to the link, and choose View analytics. The same option is in the menu at the top of the link editor.
What does the Traffic tab show?
At the top is a chart with three numbers for the date range:
- Sessions: visits to your booking pages. See how sessions are counted.
- Bookings: meetings booked during those visits.
- Booking Rate: bookings divided by sessions. Click it to hide or show its line on the chart.
Hover over a day on the chart to see that day's numbers.
Below the chart are four tables. Each one shows Bookings and Sessions for every row. Hover over a row to see its booking rate in place of its bookings.
- People & Teams: your personal links and each team you manage.
- Scheduling Links: each link.
- Referrers: where visitors came from. See how referrers and UTM parameters show up.
- Session Activity: Active Sessions, where the visitor picked a day or a time, booked, or started connecting their calendar, and Inactive Sessions, where they only looked.
What does the Event Activity tab show?
The chart has four numbers. Click any of them to hide or show it on the chart.
- Bookings: meetings booked, counted on the day they were booked. Requests that need approval count when they're made.
- Reschedulings: meetings moved to a new time, counted on the day they were moved.
- Cancellations: meetings canceled, counted on the day they were canceled.
- Event Occurrences: confirmed meetings, counted on the day they take place.
Below the chart are four tables, each showing Bookings and Cancellations:
- People & Teams
- Scheduling Links
- Organizers: the host of each meeting.
- Schedulers: the person who booked each meeting, by name and email.
Why don't the bookings on the two tabs match?
They count different things. Traffic counts bookings made during a tracked visit to a booking page. Event Activity counts every meeting booked on your links, including ones that weren't part of a tracked visit, such as meetings you book from your own link while signed in.
Neither tab includes meetings booked through polls.
How do I filter the reports?
- Date range. Use the menu in the top-right corner. Choose Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, or Last Month, or pick a start and end date on the calendar. The default is Last 30 Days. Days follow your time zone.
- A row in any table. Click a row to narrow the whole report to it, like one link or one referrer. Click more rows to include them too. Click a row again to remove it.
Each filter appears above the reports. Click the X on a filter to remove it.
Tables show the top five rows. Click Show all to see the rest.
Filters stay in place when you switch tabs. Referrer and Session Activity filters only change the Traffic tab, and organizer and scheduler filters only change the Event Activity tab.
How are sessions counted?
A session is one visit to a booking page. It ends after 20 minutes without any activity, so a visitor who comes back later starts a new session. A new session also starts each day (UTC).
SavvyCal doesn't use cookies to recognize visitors. Instead, a visit is matched to a session by the visitor's IP address and browser. That means the same person on two devices counts as two sessions. SavvyCal doesn't report page views or unique visitors.
A few things to know:
- Your own visits don't count when you're signed in and open a link you organize. Teammates who open the link do count, even if they're hosts on it.
- Embedded links count. Visits to a link embedded on your website are tracked like any other visit.
- Your profile page isn't tracked. Only visits to a link's booking page count.
- Bots aren't filtered out specifically. Sessions are recorded by the booking page's JavaScript, so crawlers that don't run JavaScript aren't counted.
How do referrers and UTM parameters show up?
Each row in Referrers is one of these:
source / medium, when the visitor's URL hadutm_sourceandutm_mediumparameters, likenewsletter / email.- A UTM source, when the URL had
utm_sourcebut noutm_medium. - A website, like
google.com, when the visitor clicked a link to your booking page from another site. - direct, when there was no referring website and no UTM parameters.
UTM parameters win over the referring website. The reports don't break down utm_campaign, utm_term, or utm_content. To see every UTM parameter on a booked meeting, see using UTM parameters.
For an embedded link, the referrer is usually the website it's embedded on.
Can I see analytics for my team's links?
Yes, if you manage the team. The reports cover:
- Your personal links.
- Every link on a team where you're an owner or admin.
- Every link in your organization, including members' personal links, if you're an organization owner or admin.
Team members who aren't admins see only their own personal links, even for team links they host. By default, the reports add up everything you can see. Click a row in People & Teams to narrow them to one team or person. See team and organization roles.
Links and teams that have since been archived or deleted stay in the reports, so your history stays complete.
How far back does the data go?
Traffic, bookings, reschedulings, and cancellations go back to May 23, 2023, when SavvyCal started collecting them. If your date range starts earlier, those days are blank and the page says "Analytics data capture began on May 23, 2023." Event Occurrences come from your booked meetings, so they go back further.
Can I export my analytics?
No. There's no export or API for the Traffic and Event Activity reports.
You can export your booked meetings, including their UTM parameters, as a CSV from the Events page. See exporting event data. The API and webhooks also include each event's details.
Can I use my own analytics tool?
SavvyCal connects to Fathom Analytics, which tracks visits to your booking pages in your Fathom account. There's no built-in integration for Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.
To track bookings in another tool, you can:
- Redirect to your own confirmation page after someone books, and track a goal there. See customizing the confirmation page.
- Listen for the
savvycal.scheduledevent when your link is embedded on your website. See listening for events.
